About Hominis
Future Archaeology
"As an artist, I visualize myself under a concept that I have called Archaeologist of Matter. I try to understand each material and each project in which I work, from its particular temporality, the material guides me in its universe of possibilities to discover it, shape it, and propose an aesthetic from it. During the creative process, I do not think about the final object, but about the present material that action after action discovers itself.
"In the Future Archaeology objects are not separated from the artist. We are intertwined in a constant interaction."
La Naturaleza de la Materia
La naturaleza de la materia (Nature of Matter) is the way in which I relate to the unanswered question of existence, the way in which I try to understand and connect with what surrounds me, with what I am, that is life, a series of meta realities where each one perceives and reinterprets its environment.
It is related to Future Archaeology, the material guides me in its universe of possibilities to discover an object, has its own reality.
Once I can connect with the material, I can connect with the beauty."
Natural Textures
The design of the last decades has focused on reducing the lines and shapes of objects to be adapted, comfortable, and functional for the user (among other moral issues perhaps), as it is a fundamental part of design theory.
However, Hominis goes beyond design and even breaks the barrier of jewelry, I seek in the natural form to understand our existence, its purpose is to establish a relationship with the object, not from its technical use, but from its symbolic use, I find in natural forms the way to propose a new minimalism based on the concept, return to the basis of our existence, recognize ourselves as complex organisms that have evolved and sometimes we forget that we are also animals, all this deriving in a Brutalist aesthetic.
My work is the gesture of existence, of that existence that is not equal, that is not symmetrical, that is not clean, but nevertheless, in a certain sense, is perfect.
