Handmade in collaboration with a master goldsmith and welder, this striking piece by Tita López is a celebration of generational knowledge and contemporary expression. The bold pendant—shaped as a Sacred Heart with radiant wings—is forged using the traditional martillado technique, an age-old method where each detail is formed by hand with hammers of varying shapes and stone chisels.

The pendant is set on a soft, black leather band with adjustable snap closures. Every element—down to the textural marks left by the artisan’s tools—speaks to the intimacy of handmade work and the power of cultural symbolism. Wear it as armor, as memory, or as statement—this piece honors the past while commanding the present.

About the Technique

For this collection, Tita worked with two artisans, a goldsmith, and a welder. The skilled artisan uses an artisanal method that has been passed down for generations: martillado. This technique requires the artisan to use hammers of different shapes, sizes, and weights, depending on the alloy, the object's size, or the work phase. In addition, stone chisels are used to outline and adorn the object's final shape.
